Want to read a strangely imaginative science fiction book? It features a colony on Mars, schizophrenia, black market operations, autism, real estate schemes, strange visions of the future, adultery, guns, and Martian Time-Slip was first published in
I picked up Martian Time-Slip because the plot described on the back cover is exciting. The fact that the book is written by PKD is just icing on the top. He was a most brilliant writer; bending reality with just words and making you believe impossible worlds.
Philip K. Rather, he was scarily in sync with it. Now his fiction, full of comedy, melancholy, and paranoia, matches our own peculiar circumstances at the beginning of a frightening new century.

Martian Time-Slip is truly an anomaly in the science fiction genre. While it has many elements of a typical sci-fi novel, including a title highly suggestive of the genre, the main focus of Martian Time-Slip is on the intracies of the human mind with a heavy focus on the introverted world view of the schizophrenic. The story takes place on the fledling Martian colonies in and its main character is Jack Bohlen, a skilled repairmen and recovering schizophrenic who still suffers flashbacks.

I will explain why this is so. This was the right book at the right time, and it had a profound effect on me. What is Martian Time-Slip about?
Posted by: Redhead on: January 15, I enjoyed reading The Penultimate Truthand got through Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheepbut other than that, I was rarely able to get more than 20 pages into one of his books. On a lark, I picked up a used copy of Martian Time-Slip. It looked short, and thus easily survivable even if I ended up not caring for it.
