Filing Protest
Young Guns follow same rules as Stock
4 Class.
YOUNG GUNS RULES
Frame
A. Stock for make and model.
ROLL CAGE
A. All cars must have boxed roll cage with 1 1/2 o.d. v
.095" maximum tubing's.
B. Must have 3 bars in left door and 2 bars in right
door.
C. Loop around engine compartment permitted.
D. Two bars may run from the top of the main roll cage
loop to the rear frame
rails.
WHEELBASE
A. Stock for make and model.
SUSPENSION
A. Must be stock for make and model.
B. Jack bolts permitted.
C. Racing shocks permitted.
D. Racing springs permitted.
E. Lowering blocks permitted.
F. 1 ½” minimum drive shaft diameter. Steel only.
STEERING
A. Stock for make and model.
BRAKES
A. 3 wheel brake system permitted.
WHEELS / TIRES
A. 8 inch wheel max. Bead locks permitted.
B. Any DOT street tire permitted (No recaps or mud
grips).
REAR END
A. May be locked.
B. No lightening of rear end in ANY way.
BODY
A. Outside appearance must be stock.
B. All glass and flammable material must be removed.
C. Headlights, tail lights and wheel covers must be
removed.
D. Doors may be hulled for door bars only.
E. Doors must be strapped, welded or bolted.
F. Front wheel wells may be removed.
G. Area between driver and gas tank must be totally
covered with sheet metal.
H. Rubber nose permitted. No slope nose will be
permitted.
I. Skirts permitted.
J. Deck height on spoiler six inch maximum.
K. Stock appearing aluminum sides and top permitted.
Must be stock appearing.
BUMPER
A. Stock for make and model.
B. Must be securely attached.
C. Must not have exposed sharp edges.
D. Must be track approved.
FLYWHEEL / CLUTCH
A. Flywheel must be stock for make and model.
B. Pressure plate and clutch disc must be stock for make
and model.
C. No scalloped flywheel permitted
FUEL
A. Pump Gas or Racing Fuel only.
RADIATORS
A. Aluminum is permitted.
STARTERS
A. All cars must start under its own power.
TRANSMISSION
A. Stock 3, 4, or 5 speed are permitted.
B. Automatic transmissions are permitted.
C. No modifications.
SAFTEY REQUIREMENTS
A. Approved helmets and fire suits.
B. Properly mounted 3" quick release lap belt with 2"
shoulder harness in good condition.
C. Properly mounted fire extinguisher within drivers
reach.
D. Securely mounted fuel tank in trunk.
E. Must have securely mounted bucket type or racing
seat.
ENGINE
A. Must be stock.
B. Must be in original location.
C. Must have original rods.
D. No rotary engines.
E. Any oil pan permitted.
F. No turbochargers.
G. .080 overbore permitted.
H. Crank and heads must be stock no polishing. 3 angle
valve job permitted. No cutting below the seat in the
head.
I. Flat top piston, on Ford & Chevy.
HEAD
A. Must be stock for make and model.
B. Stock, one piece stock replacement valve permitted.
Double valve springs permitted.
C. Any Hyd. cam will be permitted.
D. No solid lift cams permitted
E. Cam gear permitted.
F. Stock cast iron manifold or header permitted.
G. Shims under lifter permitted.
INTAKE MANIFOLD
A. Fuel injected intake permitted. No sidewinder intake
permitted.
CARBURETOR
A. 1 inch spacer or adapter permitted.
B. 500 carb. Permitted part number 4412, no polishing
and porting. No after market carb. Motorcraft or Holly
permitted.
IGNITION
A. Factory single point or HEI only.
B. Racing coil permitted.
C. No ignition boosters.
NOTE
No rotary engines / No front wheel drives / No rear
engine cars (will be allowed)
WEIGHT
A. 1lb per cc anytime
B. 2,000 cc Min.
PROTESTS
A. Top (3) only allowed to protest.
B. No counter protest allowed.
C. Fees:
$300.00 per 3 items (Bottom End not included)
Bottom End - $600.00
Acceptance Fee - $100.00
D. Track retains $100.00
VISUAL PROTEST
A. Must be made before event starts.
B. Visual fee will be $50 (per item)
C. Track retains 100% of visual protest
fees
Note::::
Anything not covered or mentioned in the above rules,
has to be ruled on when brought to officials attention.
Track Officials decision will be final. The above rules
may be amended at any time. If you have any questions
about a rule or rules, bring it to the Technical
inspector attention. Do not just do what you think is
right.
